Industrial areas will be confined mainly to the south of Ayer Rajah Expressway. This includes a narrow strip of light industries just north of the Teban Gardens housing estate.

The industrial land along the northern stretch of Jurong River are to be redeveloped for housing.

General industries comprising food processing industries are located around the Jurong Port. Chemical and oil-related industries are confined mainly to the south of Pandan Reservoir.

Singapore's first business park, the International Business Park, is located at Jurong East. It aims to attract and retain high technology oriented businesses perfroming various high value-added activities for the global market. It will create a high quality landscape environment that will give users greater flexibility in meeting their requirements.
